Mathematics is an area I excel in and love to teach. My favorite subjects to tutor are Statistics, Math, and Physics, but I also like to work with students on Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, and IB Mathematical Studies SL and HL. Standardized testing is also on my tutoring menu, and I can help prepare students for the ACT and the SAT.I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Science in Statistics at Duke University, where I have also been involved with the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. Through the NROTC, I have tutored high school students in many of the subjects listed above. I enjoy tutoring not only because I enjoy the subjects themselves, but because I believe in the ability of every person to achieve their goals. With a little hard work and some outside direction, any student can turn practice into progress. In fact, helping my students to realize that they do have the ability to succeed is a major part of my tutoring technique.At home, I am an avid sports fan and enjoy soccer, running, researching military history, and playing with my dog Champ.
