Hello, I'm Daniel from Richardson, Texas. I am in the process of earning two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Texas, Dallas. I am a lover of languages, and am working on adding Mandarin Chinese to my repertoire. I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. I have almost two years of experience teaching ESL to adults. When I am not studying, I like biking, volunteering, and listening to music. I also love to spend time in two of my favorite pursuits, reading and learning languages.Rather than asking students to memorize content, I find it more helpful to engage the students I tutor in a dialogue in which we explore concepts and apply critical thinking. I tend to ask my students a lot of questions to get them thinking. I also work with students on the skills necessary to excel in the practices of studying and test-taking. I particularly enjoy tutoring students in writing mechanics and Spanish. I am available to tutor a variety of subjects, including Spanish, ESL/ELL, essay editing, literature, grammar and mechanics, psychology, public speaking, social sciences, AP U.S. government and politics, and SAT preparation.
